Young Nina, soon to be a doctor, but has to make a detour to the law department, tagged me on this meme. The AnitoKid tagged me to do a similar meme before, but I think I have to do it again for Nina, too. So here it is.
How long have you been blogging?
I have blogged for seven months now. I have made my first post on 21 May 2007. More than two years prior to that, I have already contemplated on blogging, but never had the nerve to start. I was a cyberspace moron then.
What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?
The desire to tell the world about my daughter’s first words inspired me to start a blog. After all, I am just the father of a wonderful girl, terribly missing his daughter. In addition, I want to express my opinion on something, to reveal what I have in mind, to share the good things that I have or know of. I love to write and I enjoy doing it.
Later on, having the distinguished Manolo Quezon becoming aware of my blog and quoting my posts for a few instances such as the first time, the second time and the third time, inspired me further and encouraged me to keep on blogging.
I did not have a mentor, per se, but a certain Mr. Matthew Wade, who wrote the article Blog in an Hour taught me how to blog. The article methodically instructed me through the process and in less than an hour, I had my own blog, which incidentally spawned a spin off after a few months! Now, I have an outlet for my passion – writing.
Are you trying to make money online, or just doing it for fun?
Obviously, this blog is loaded with adsense contents and referrals, but believe me, I am not trying to make money online (wink, wink). After six months of adsense and earning about three US dollars, the ads and referrals now function primarily as space fillers and for aesthetics and balance purposes.
Yes, I am doing it for fun.
Tell me three things you love about being online.
1. I love reading the news and opinion columns online.
2. I love participating in online forums.
3. I love reading my blog and other people's blogs online.
Tell me three things you struggle within the online world.
1. I struggle in coming up with regular posts.
2. I struggle in trying to edit my template.
3. I struggle in posting comments on blogs lately. I have posted comments on Gladita, I Love Iloilo, Kwan and Underside, but have not seen any published.
I now tag Kwan, Batang Buotan, Intiendes, Mapiles, Overtime Boy and Psycho.Sanctum to continue this meme.
